CDF Munir Warns Externally-Sponsored Terrorism Cannot Derail Pakistan

Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Asim Munir delivered a strong warning on Tuesday that externally sponsored terrorism and hostile propaganda would ultimately fail to undermine Pakistan's national progress. Speaking in an address, the CDF stated that forces using proxies to destabilise the country were pursuing a doomed strategy against the resilience of the Pakistani state and its institutions.

General Munir emphasised that Pakistan's security apparatus remained fully capable of countering asymmetric threats, including those fuelled by foreign backing. His remarks come at a period of heightened regional tensions and ongoing counterterrorism operations across the country's western frontier.

The CDF's statement carries institutional weight as it reflects a consolidated military position warning adversaries that neither propaganda campaigns nor proxy-supported militancy would succeed in reversing the country's development trajectory. The message is also seen as a signal to regional actors who have been accused of financing and directing militant networks inside Pakistan.

Security analysts view the remarks as part of a broader communications strategy by the military establishment to project confidence and deter external interference, particularly as Pakistan consolidates post-conflict gains in several restive regions.
