HEC Chairman Stresses Universities' Critical Role in National Development

Higher Education Commission Chairman Professor Dr Niaz Ahmed Akhtar emphasised the indispensable role of universities in driving societal development during a visit to the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, where he was received by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Kamran. The engagement formed part of the HEC's ongoing outreach to institutions across the country.

The Chairman's remarks are consistent with HEC's current policy direction, which seeks to shift Pakistani higher education from credential-focused models toward research output, community engagement, and applied problem-solving.
