Iran FM Araghchi Arrives in Islamabad for US-Iran Peace Talks

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to arrive in Islamabad on Friday night, leading a high-level delegation for talks that Pakistani officials say are aimed at facilitating dialogue between Tehran and Washington. The visit comes amid an active US-Iran military confrontation that has rattled global energy markets and triggered significant regional anxiety.

Pakistani sources confirmed that Islamabad has been actively pushing for a diplomatic opening between the two sides, positioning itself as a potential mediator. National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq stated that Pakistan-Iran ties remain strong and expressed optimism that direct US-Iran negotiations could follow the Islamabad talks.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar separately reviewed the evolving regional situation and directed Pakistani diplomatic missions to pursue proactive engagements on priority security and diplomatic issues. The foreign ministry has declined to disclose the full agenda ahead of the delegation's arrival.
