Pakistan Marks Marka-e-Haq Anniversary with National Commemorations

Pakistan observed the first anniversary of Operation Marka-e-Haq on Friday with a series of commemorative events held across the country, including rallies at educational institutions, academic seminars, and tributes by government ministers to the martyrs and veterans of the operation. The occasion was also marked by Pakistan's diplomatic missions abroad, reflecting the national significance attached to the military campaign.

Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhary paid tribute to the martyrs and ghazis who participated in the operation, while another minister stressed that unity during times of conflict had been central to the country's success. Gordon College in Rawalpindi organised a large rally to mark the day, and the University of Sargodha held a dedicated seminar on the Bunyan-um-Marsoos victory.

The Marka-e-Haq operation, conducted by Pakistan's armed forces, has become a focal point of national pride and institutional commemoration since its conclusion. The anniversary observances signal the government's effort to institutionalise the memory of the operation as a defining moment in contemporary Pakistani military history.

Pakistan's diplomatic missions' participation in the anniversary observances adds an international dimension to the commemorations, underlining Islamabad's interest in projecting the narrative of military competence and national resilience on a global platform. Academic engagement at universities further points to a deliberate effort to embed the event in Pakistan's educational and cultural discourse.
