Pakistan Marks Marka-i-Haq Anniversary With National Ceremony

Pakistan's civil and military leadership gathered at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad on Sunday evening to mark the first anniversary of Marka-i-Haq, the operation commemorated as a defining moment in the country's recent security history. The solemn ceremony brought together senior officials from both the civilian and uniformed branches of state in a display of institutional unity.

Separate commemorative events were held across the country, including a public gathering at Bohranwali Ground addressed by Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political and Public Affairs, Senator Rana Sanaullah Khan, and a musical night at PTS Ground in Sindh featuring prominent singer Hadiqa Kiani. Banners marking the anniversary of the Bunyan-un-Marsoos operation were also displayed at public spaces including the H-9 Bazaar in Islamabad.

The anniversary carries significant political and institutional weight, with the government positioning the occasion as a symbol of national resolve and civil-military cohesion. Tributes were paid from multiple institutional quarters, including a statement from Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan honouring the sacrifices of Pakistan's armed forces.

The breadth of ceremonies β€” spanning the federal capital, Punjab, and Sindh β€” reflects a coordinated state effort to embed the anniversary into the national calendar as a moment of reflection and pride. Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani also used the occasion to issue a message marking Mother's Day, emphasising themes of resilience and national strength.
