PM Shehbaz Condemns Drone and Missile Strikes Targeting UAE
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday issued a strong condemnation of drone and missile attacks carried out against the United Arab Emirates, expressing Pakistan's firm solidarity with Islamabad's Gulf ally. The statement comes amid a sharply deteriorating regional security environment linked to the ongoing Iran war, which has seen military hostilities spill beyond the immediate theatre of conflict.
The Prime Minister's office described the attacks as a flagrant violation of UAE sovereignty and an unacceptable targeting of a peaceful nation. Islamabad called for immediate de-escalation and urged the international community to hold perpetrators accountable through lawful mechanisms.
Pakistan and the UAE maintain deep strategic and economic ties, with a large Pakistani diaspora resident in the Emirates. Any sustained threat to UAE security carries direct implications for remittance flows, bilateral trade, and the welfare of millions of Pakistani workers.
The condemnation positions Pakistan clearly within the broader regional response to the Iran conflict's escalating spillover effects. Islamabad has consistently called for diplomatic resolution while defending the sovereignty of Gulf partner states, a stance that reflects both strategic calculation and economic self-interest.
